Some Random Thoughts & Rich Dad Poor Dad
I got given a book called “Rich Dad Poor Dad” written by Robert T. Kiyosaki by my friend the other day.
I always knew of this book because it sold quite well & continues to do so I believe. Once I started reading it, I got quite excited. The more I read, however, the more I thought that this guy’s a load of b/s.
You realise by the time you’re nearing the end of the book, that there’s not much to be learned from this book. It’s definitely written for naive idiots who end up quitting their job only to regret their decision.
I found an incredibly useful site here where John Reed, a millionaire real-estate investor, gives a damning review. It’s very long & has received considerable attention. Enough for the great RK (that’s what Robert’s followers call him) to write a response to the criticisms put against him. However, his response is joke. You can find it on the web by searching something like “response to reed”.
I’ve just finished the Art of the Deal by Trump also. It’s not a bad book despite what I might’ve said earlier. Although there’s quite a bit of self-promoting crap, it’s really quite interesting to read. I thoroughly recommend anyone interested in real estate to give it a read. I don’t care much for what’s produced through Trump’s University, however. I also watched The Apprentice (again) & liked the way he dealt with the apprentices.
